Dunedin City
With a population of around 120,000
people, the port City of Dunedin is the South Island's Second largest.
Famous for being a University city of Scottish heritage,
visitors to NZ's oldest city are treated to a delightful combination
of fine Architecture and cultural riches. There is a strong Scottish flavour
to a lot of Dunedin's attributes. Take the name Dunedin, for example,
which is Scottish (Gaelic) for Edinburgh.

The Otago Peninsula
While visiting Dunedin, make sure you don't miss a trip to the picturesque
Otago Peninsula. Stretching nearly 20 km
from the city, the Peninsula is home to many of New Zealand's most treasured

fur Seals and the Royal Albatross. Along
with the wild life, there are many beautiful beaches tucked amongst equally
impressive cliffs.
Moeraki Boulders
About a one-ho
ur drive north of Dunedin
is the small fishing settlement of Moeraki
where the famous Moeraki boulders are situated. Huge, completely round,
smooth rocks sit in the beach like giant bowling
balls. These boulders
are the largest, most spherical and densely populated in the world.

Oamaru
Oamaru is a medium sized town on the coast (30 minutes north of Moeraki) famous
for its incredible soft limestone deposits
and also penguins. Don't miss a trip to the Oamaru Blue
Penguin Colony where you can sit and watch the little cuties wander
up the beach in the evening.
